About 62 years ago little girls were playing in a field called the "Bowling Green" right over the River when they heard voices shouting to them "Lie down lad, lie down." The voices were those of little boys also playing near them. They 'lay' down. Right over their heads went a cock of hay that had been made the day before by the Walshes' the fish people in their little paddock in Goat Hill, next the "Bowling Green" They watched the flying 'cock' cross the river over to the Kilkenny side. And there it perched itself in Annfield in a field belonging to Graves of Rosbercon Castle. Next day Walshes had the hay drawn back again in their own car - had to go for it of course, themselves.- Bailitheoir
