    in ridges. The hinton is thrown on the middle of the ridges and then manure is spread on them.
    The potatoes are then cut and an eye is left in each piece of potato and these are called splits.
    The manure is then spread on the ridges and the furrows are ploughed before the splits are put on the ridges. The potatoes are dropped in a single row about ten inches apart from each other. Then clay is shovelled on top of them
