  1. The famine took place in 1845 till 1847. The cause of the famine was the failure of the potato crop. All the potatoes were rotten in the ground and they people starved for want of food and they people also died along the roads.
    They had some potatoes and they spared them and set them again. The people were all sure that the potatoes would be good the next year. They were as bad as the year before and the people had nothing to eat.
