  1. A haunted house is situated two miles from Longford. Protestants owned the house. When the owner died one night at two oclock two large carriages drawn by horses went over the path all lit up, A knock came to the door when it was opened no person was to be seen outside. This happened three times and the third time the door was knocked in. For six years a large light went out at the front door and across all the fields near hand and then quenched. A large dog is to be seen still standing outside the gate at midnight and several people saw the man himself since his death.
