  1. Some years ago Edward Kilkenny's house Crott, Moyne Co. Longford was burned. The people in the house escaped when they discovered that a fire had broken out.
    About 16 years ago Edenmore school was burned. It is situated in this parish. There were no lives lost in the fire as it occurred during the night. It is supposed that the fire in the school was not quenched properly the evening before the fire broke out.
    My father told me that there was a very big rick of turf burned in Crott bog about twenty five years ago. The turf belonged to Owen O'Reilly, Crott, The value of the turf was £10
