  1. About seventy years ago there was a Donohoe man from Moyne drowned in Lough na Bac. The drowning took place on a Whit Sunday. His mother warned him not to go to the lake but to go to Mass. For some time before that the people said that someone would be drowned because the lough looked very black.
Many mens' lives were endangered looking for the body. It was found on Sunday evening by a man named Mac Naboe.
