  1. About thirty years ago Pat Donnelly Corrick was able to carry forty stone of oats on his back from the road to his house which was a distance of about six perches. He was also able to mow an Irish acre of hay in one day. He was able to hold the scythe board with in end in each hand and jump across it.
    Phil Hurson, Legga, Co Longford was a very swift runner. He was a weaver. One day the police came to arrest him and he ran five miles with the police in pursuit and he escaped from them.
    There were two Thompson men from Creealaughter Co Longford imprisoned in Ballinamuck Barracks
