  1. The leipreachan has no special name. He wears a red pointed cap and a red coat. He is about three feet in height. He lives in a fort. Leipreachans are not looked on as friendly beings. They have on no occasions helped human beings. It is said that they have never taken revenge on those who interfered with them. There are no local families connected with the mermaid. It is said that if you caught a leipreachan and if you did not watch him he would disappear. There are no stories told about the mermaid in this district. It is said that one half of the mermaid is like a fish and that she has hands, arms, and a head like a human being. No one
