    he would see an apple tree growing on the stone-bridge. The priest going away remarked that even that would not be impossible to Almighty God.
    Strangely enough some years after, a small apple tree was noticed growing on the North side of the Leinster portion of the bridge. It then developed into a heavy tree and bore fruit.
    In the year 1921 just before the Treaty was signed the tree fell into the river leaving some roots behind which have now developed into a healthy tree.
    Any person who has seen this tree wonders from where it gets it's substance as it is growing between tightly set stones.
