  1. There were only three meals eaten a day in olden times, the breakfast, the dinner, and the supper.
    The breakfast was eaten at eight o'clock, the dinner at twelve o'clock and the supper at six.
    The people always worked for a couple of hours in the morning before the breakfast.
    The breakfast meal consisted of porridge and buttermilk. The dinner meal consisted of smoked bacon, potatoes and buttermilk.
