    can take away the butter no matter what means they try.
    Long ago many people practised taking their neighbours butter. There was a man named Mr Challin living in Moateland and my Grandmother often told me how he took her butter. One day he came accompanied by his wife and son to her home and asked for water. She gave him the water and also gave the son a bottle of milk. The wife then asked for a half pound of butter and she got this also.
    They then went home and for several months after this there was no butter on the milk while the Challins could have plenty of butter on the milk of one cow.
