  1. Te Leipreachan is generally known by that name in this district. He is supposed to be about two feet tall and to wear a red cap and white vest and black breeches.
    He lives in a dence wood and he is usually occupied at shoemaking.
    Stories are told about these Leipreachans and I was told the following:-
    There was once a leipreachan who lived under a bush in quarry lane.
    He used to make boots which he hung on a bush. The people around used to try to steal them but he prevented
