  1. The townland of Cornacausk is said to contain a treasure. In the centre of a field there is a small hill in which it is said to be buried.
    In order to get this treasure a life must be lost. About sixty years ago some men set out to dig for it. They brought a cat with them whose life they intended to take if necessary.
    After digging for hours they came to a big flag covering a large hole. They rolled back the stone and threw in the cat thinking it would die, but it escaped.
