    chase when an unusually large white hare crossed the huntsmen’s path. The hounds gave chase. The were down around Dromore. Anyway the hare made for Grennan and the hounds followed when they came to the hags cave one of the hag hounds managed to nip at the hares thigh who escaped, into the hut. When the huntsmen came along the went inside and saw only the old hag lying in bed. She asked her did she see a white hare but she insolently told them she didnt and ordered them to clean out of her place. One of the huntsmen pulled of the bed clothes and there was the old hag and a piece out of her leg which was bleeding.
    This old hag was either torn to pieces that day or burned. I forget which it so long since heard the story. An old
