  1. The fairy forts of this district are supposed to be in Killaloreen, Doone and Shureen. They are circular in shape with earthen banks around them. They are supposed to have been inhabited by faires. Black dogs were supposed to be seen around them. There was music heard also and lights seen in the evenings. This place was noted for Leprechauns who were seen and caught by many people.
    There is a large fort in Mr Crombie’s land in Rahugh. It is covered over with white-thorn trees, and when those trees are in full bloom it is a beautiful sight to behold. This fort is raised up above the level of the field and is circular in shape. It is noted that if anyone gets a prod of one of those white-thorn bushes it is very much inclined to be
