    a farm house in Cloneyglin Kilbeggan occupied at the time by a Mrs Ryan.
    One day Mrs Ryan was busy working in the Kitchens preparing her husband's dinner, when suddenly a little woman appeared on the floor beside her. Mrs Ryan thinking she was a beggar woman offered her a plate of oatmeal which was the custom at that time. The little woman with a wave of her hand said "Thats not what I came for my good woman. I came to save your life you will meet with an accident at your own door, and if you give me something that you wear yourself I can save you" Mrs. Ryan gave her a little black shawl, and then the little woman took her
