   Summer time people often put a stake down in the ground out in the field. They fasten the chain to the stake and put the chain around the cow's neck. They do this when the weather is too hot to milk in the cow shed.
   When we are milking the cows, if they move we say "Hurrish or Progue."

   The following animals are kept on the farm, cows, sheep,young cattle, goat, pigs, ducks, hens, geese, turkeys, dogs, cats and horses. The cows are the most useful and gentlest of all. We have pet names on our cows. Tugger, Rigney, Cockhorn and Pusslehawn. They will come to us when we call "Priggie" and the stand quietly when we say cailín deas and "herrish" It is usual when young cows
