    If a person bought an animal, and gave half the price before hand that was called "boot".
    Hucksters, pedlars, and dealers in feathers and rags visited the district in former times. They used to sell laces, brooches, combs, pictures, pins, needles, lace, wool, and door mats. They bought feathers and rags from the people also. They still come.
