    "Moses Horns" in the sky, a pale sunset, a halo round the moon, shooting stars, black clouds, a rainbow in the morning, a strong wind blowing from the south, a distant bell ringing clearly, the sound of a moving train heard distinctly a long distance off, the sea gulls flying inland, the cat sitting with her back to the fire, "Will o' the Wisp" on the roads, the cricket singing sharply, the flies gathering in great swarms on the roads, and the smoke coming down are sure signs of rain.

    The south wind brings most rain to my district.
