    The treasure is supposed to be hidden in the bog in Killinan. It was placed there by the Danes when Brian Boru hunted them out of Ireland.
    Attempts were made to get it by Michael Flaherty and Peter Dowling from Ballynacargy, Co. Westmeath. They failed to get it. It was predicted that a life would be lost in the attempt.

  2. Once upon a time a king and his son lived in the castle at Causestown. His son was very fond of hunting. He went out one morning and met the Green Man of a Rest. He asked him to play a game of cards for a field of bullocks. He agreed; and the young prince won them.
