  1. A Christmas Story
Told by Peter Balfe age 20 years Ballinacree Oldcastle, Co. Meath.
Stories used to be told that every animal for down on their knees on Christmas night to give glory to God. About sixty years ago a man was once listening to the story and on Christmas Eve night he went out midnight to his stables to see if his horses would go down on their knees. He waited for a long time and at last the two horses went down on their knees and they said to one another we will be taking our master to the church tomorrow night and on that night and was buried the next day. So it is said that no one should watch the animals on Christmas Eve.
