There was an old man coming home vere late from a neighbour's house who he was playing cards near the town of Cavan many year's ago it was about twelve o'clock at night and he was coming across the fields home he came to a little stile, and he got up on it what do you think he saw sitting in the step at the other side but me brave banshee and she racking he hair as grand as you please she looked in the moonlight, but the minute she heard him up with her and away with her like the very devil. Whe he got up on stile he spotted her rack on the ground. He picked it up and fine strong one it was, too and put it in his poket and away home with him while the going was good but I may tell you he nearly paid for his little rack that night as sure as you were born. He wasn't long in when her nabs came howling and bawling
