    "Dogs dont go mad at all now like they used one time. I remember when I was young it was an everyday thing to hear of a mad dog roving about. I often saw men with guns down at Lake Sheelan after them.
    I saw a sow mad one time. A mad dog bit her and she ran into the byre and went stone mad. We had to stop up the door with stones. To build a wall outside the door. Dick Sheridan was got to shoot her down the roof.
