A good cure for toothache is to mix soot and lime and salt and rub it on the tooth or put it in the hole if there be a hole in the tooth.

In older times people used to put cotton wool and turpentine. Also people used to put a horse nail under the aching tooth and root it out.

Another cure for the toothache is to rub the dust of the altar on the tooth.
