There is an old ruined castle in the Parish of Drumconrath. It is situated in the townland of Newstone. It is supposed to be three hundred years old. It is not known who built it.
The top of the castle is in ruins and it is said to have been knocked by Oliver Cromwell.
The following story is told relating to it. One night a number of men were playing cards in a room underneath the castle.During the game at which some of the men were cheating a stranger knocked at the door and entered.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
