    there is a great big house called Dowdstown house. It is said that when the war was on in 1779 the house was occupied by a Catholic family called Blakes. They had bitter enemies so they made a great big tunnel about half a mile in the ground, and put a cement path in the whole way through it. The arched it over head like a bridge. When the enemies were coming they would run into it and shut a great big gate after them. The tunnel is there to this day quite visible, and as good as the day it was made. It is now occupied by a man named
