  1. There are a few forts in the school district. Cormeen fort, Carnaville fort, and Corrabuggy fort. The giants grave lies between Cormeen, and Carnaville fort. There is a stray sod in Shanwella in the townland of Carnaville, and a number of people went astray in it.
    In olden times it was said that there was battles fought on the sight where these forts now stand, and all that was killed in the battles were buried there. Every fort is circular and is surrounded
