  1. There are a lot of old houses in the district of Girley left from long ago. They were mostly made of mud and stone. The roofs of them were made of straws an rushes. There were very few windows on them and on the very old houses there were no windows at all. There were half doors outside the big doors. The people used to sleep in the kitchen in a settle-bed. There were no apartments in the houses.
