    Once upon a time in the 1900's there was a man and he had a baby son. One day they were going to get coal in a handcart. They came to St Mary's Bridge and the young blurted out while the other was standing there, Draw-da. At the same time there was a smart man passing by and heard what the child said. He thought to himself it would be a suitable name for the town. So he then named the town this and it has stuck ever since.
