    Another Minister lived in New Quay. In his house there was a haunted room. People say he had an old nurse working for him. They let her die without the priest as she was a Catholic. They also robbed her. A man in our villiage saw the Minister's daughter pitched out of her room bed and all. She had to sleep in the kitchen until morning.
    There was a man named Austin Kerin. He lived on Caron. One night about 1 o' clock as he was going home, a dog came before him and would not let him pass. The man had a walking stick, he raised it to hit him. So the dog jumped over his left shoulder and came before him again. His eyes spat fire. The man had to back over five hundred yards to Mr P, Hawes's house. Hawes got out of bed, lit a candle and let him in.
    He then fell on the floor and fainted. They gave him salt and water. It revived him a bit, so he went home in the morning. He went no more to visit God bless the hearers and cheerful tellers, and all who her it and if its a lie for me, its a lie for those that told me.
