    A copper sunset or a cloudy sunset will be followed by rain.
    When the hills seem to be meaner to us than usual people say that rain is coming.
    When a halo is seen around the moon at night it is said that the next day will be wet.
    If we see the swallows flying close to the ground in the summer time we may expect rain.
    When clouds of dust rise off the road on a rather calm day or when a lot of soot falls down the chimney it is said that rain will soon come.
    They also say that when the cat sits with her back to the fire it is a sign of rain.
