the left of the Ennis-Lahinch road. The Inagh man came home and dug up the stone next day. There was a big crock of gold under it which he took home. He also brought home the stone which was over it because there was some strange writing on it which he did not understand.
About two years after a teacher or poor scholar passed that way. When he saw the strange stone he asked the man if he knew what was written on it and he said he did not. So the teacher said that it said that there was another crock of gold on the other side of the stone. The man went there at once and found it. That night a fairy appeared to him and told him he would die if he did not put back the gold and the stone where they came from on top of Carron Hill.
