    1. When the Robin comes within it is a sign of bad news.
    2. When the cock crows at an un-usual hour it is a sign of a death.
    3. Starlings come in winter they fly in great flocks. There might be a thousand or more together.

    1. On St Johns night a bon-fire is lighted. The fire lighted in honour of St. John.
    2. On St Martains Night a hen is killed and the blood is not used it is sprinkled on the door post.
