  1. 1. You bards who with unerring flight,
    In lofty mountains soar.
    And with Parnassus starry flight,
    With vigour care to roam.
Conduct me to that sacred rill of poet and Hipperean,
To sing with talent, wit and skill,
    Of Ashgrove's Sporting green.
    2. Here you might see a gallant throng,
With courage in each soul,Vivacious blades swift, stout, and strong,
    Contending for the goal.
No vancour dwells within their breasts,
    Resentment pride or spleen,
With social friendship they are blessed,
    On Ashgrove Sporting green.
