The celebrated beauty of Bansha. The colour of her hair to amber. I compare and her stature like the cedar of Hydea.

The colour of her hair to amber
I compare and her stature like the cedar of Hydea,
    Her figure straight and tall
    With graces at her call.
And headdress like the plumage of an eagle.
Her mild an modest eyes take lovers by surprise
and her honey-sweet lips give a caution,
To each buxom being like me,
That is sick in love with thee,
    My celebrated beauty of Bansha.

This verse I took down from Mrs. Margaret Grogan, Montanavoe, Bansha, aged 76 yrs. The "celebrated beauty," she told me, was a young lady named Eliza Moore.
