    It was a beautiful summer evening and, taking out my bicycle, I went for a spin through the Glen of Aherlow.

    It was a beautiful summer evening and, taking out my bicycle, I went for a spin through the Glen of Aherlow.
    The sun was sinking in the west. A big ball throwing ever changing colours of purple orange and gold on the mountain, a lovely contrast, to the dusky gloom of the Bally-glass hills where the shifting rays could not penetrate.
    Leaving my bicycle near a house by the road-side, I walked up Derry-Glen road, oh! what a scene of beauty, a wide shallow stream, now running
