    the men and the man that had the money got away. He hid the money in a tree in Mrs. Connells field. The man kept enough of money to take him to America. He went to America and stayed twelve years there. While he was away some people cut down the tree and got the money. When he returned from America he met an old man who is now dead. He asked him to show him this particular field and told him if he got the money he would give him half of it. They went and saw that the tree was cut and the money was gone.

  2. Once upon a time there lived in Ballydrehid a giant who used to go around to all the farmers terrorizing them to get money from them. One year a farmer was going to have a threshing. He invited a number of men including the giant. The giant came that morning and started fighting with the farmer for his money before he had the work done. The farmer asked him would he clean up a well for him after his dinner and he would pay him five pounds when
