  2. The ruins of an old Castle still remain at Castle-Mary. It is said that rich people hid their money there when they were being exterminated from their homes. One incident which happened there was when a neighbouring man named Nat Bourke was sent to lift a flat stone where gold was said to be underneath. When he got there and began to work he had not gone far in it when a crowd of wicked weasels appeared and terrified the man who had to run for his life.
