  1. The most harmful weeds on our farm are the dog leaf, the thistle, the nettle and the chicken weed. Some of these weeds do great harm to the crops. The dog weed and chicken weed prevent corn from growing as they choke it when it is young. The thistle is another harmful weed as it impoverishes the land. There are other weeds which only grow on good ground - the brown button and the white clover
    Some herbs have healing properties. The hound's tongue can cure a burn. [Leicneac] can cure the mumps and another weed which grows in gardens can cure warts.
    Netttles are used as food and a very wholesome meal they are especially in the month of May as the clear the blood. Ivy is used for dyeing and the berries of it are used for making ink
