This was given in 1626 by King Charles I to George Mathew and Lady Thurles. it was to be for a two days fair yearly, beginning on Easter Tuesday, and for a two days fair yearly beginning on the feast of St Lawrence in August. The grant also included a permit to hold markets each week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The above mentioned fair had the
