  1. The local fairs are held in Roscrea and Templemore. Buyers do business in the Country when trade is good, they do the business , in farmers houses.
    There used to be a fair held in Dunkerrin which has been discontinued. There are not any local tradition concerning fairs held on hills or castles or in forts.
    The town fair is not held in fair places but in the streets. Money is paid on cattle sold.
    When an animal is sold luck money is given, the buyer gives the seller a ticket & when the cattle are delivered the seller produces his ticket and gets paid.
    An animla is marked by clipping the hair and sometimes by marking them with raddle.
