1. Our Blessed Well in Cragg (ar lean)

   are given as follows. At every visit to the well the person goes round the grave yard seven times, and the Rosary is recited every time. The general custom is to take up seven pebbles, and at the end of every visit to drop one. This custom is supposed to help the person count the visits.
   Close to the spot where the stream enters the ground, and nearer to the road than the well, is the traditional "bed" of the Saint. It is a large irregular block of brown sandstone, about eight feet long and four feet wide. The highest end is to the west with the lower end towards the road, and on the highest part of it is a large bullaun or trough. To the west of this, above it, is a similar one, and there are traces of two or three other troughs in the rock. There are two sets of scorings or indentations on it - one near the top of six irregular broad strokes, while the set lower down consists of four slight strokes. These markings are said to represent the impressions of the Saints ribs and hands.
