    they were called "journey men" The tailor's gear is a sewing machine, timble, heavy pressing iron large scissors, note book pencil, and chalk.
    In some localities shirts and some socks are made in the homes. The tailor's advice to his son is "Be sure and put a knot in your thread". and another old saying is "Twelve tailors would not make a man."
