Birds as weather guides.
The weather can be judged by the behaviour of certain birds:
The Curlew: flies very low and cry loudly when we are going to have rain.
The Wild Geese: come out from the bog and go towards the sea crying very loudly.
Tradition says that the Red breast of the robin represents the red blood that fell from our Saviour's head, when Our Lord was on the cross the robin pitied him and plucked out some of the thorns, and the drops of blood fell on its breast.- Informant
