    WHITLOW: Bath the finger in potato water as hot as it can be borne.
    TOOTHACHE: Put black snail into your mouth. When he has screeched three times the pain will be gone.
    WHITE OF AN EGG applied quickly , prevents a burn from forming blisters.
    FOR BOILS, put red hot needle into centre of it.
    FOR YELLOW JAUNDICE, the male species of the dandelion is plucked and the leaves pounded and boiled. The juice is then put into porter and sugar and ginger added, and bottled. This used three or four times a day, cures jaundice in children.
    FOR SCURVY. The juice of a birch tree applied to it at night going to bed.
    FOR COLD IN THE CHEST, heat a BLUE paper and sprinkle whiskey or turpentine on it and apply to the chest.
    FOR CHILBLAINS, rub them well with paraffin oil, before going to bed, before the fire.
    FOR A WOUND THAT IS NOT HEALING, get a dog to lick it.
    FOR BITE FROM A DOG, get a few ribs from dogs coat and apply to wound.
