    The people long ago had numerous cures for their ailments. When children were young they suffered from a disease called thrush. Use was made of gander for this disease. The gander breathed into the child's mouth for nine mornings. For the whooping cough use was made of a ferret. The people gave the ferrets milk, and whatever the left they gave it to they child, and at the end of nine mornings the child would be cured.
