    famous mowers in former times. An acre of hay was the average work each cut in a day. James Egan was also a great jumper. He jumped the cutting in Ballywintrourke a width of twenty feet. he also jumped over a pair of horses while they were ploughing. Tom Walsh of Ballywintrourke was a great storyteller. Thomas and William Browne were great singers in the district.
