  1. When the new moon is lying on its back it is a sure sign of a month. Old people say that when the wild geese fly from Ballyallinan to the South that is a sign of good weather but if they fly from the south to Ballyallinan that is a sign of bad weather.
    If the swallows are flying very near the ground that is another sure sign of rain, but if they fly up high it is a sign of good weather. When the bees rest of the ground that is a sure sign of rain.
    This weather lore is handed from father to son.
