  1. The bridal attire was a bonnet, cloak and a frock to the bride's ankles. The groom wore a suit of black, a swallow-tail coat and a knee-breeches. He brought his bride from the church on horseback, she sitting on a seat behind the saddle known as a "cúlóg".
    People do not like to get married in August because of the belief that "the sheaf that is bound in harvest is bound to be loosed in Spring"
