- The most famous man of this locality belonged to the O'Shanghnessy family of Jointer. He came to school here and later on graduated to the University going gaining his engineering degree with distinction
Finding no suitable position in this country, he emigrated to America shortly after been qualified and settled down in California and here he distinguished himself and became one of the most noted engineers in America
His greatest engineering feat was the construction of a dam which conveyed water for a great distance, and over rugged country to the city of San Francisco. This was a wonderful feat and Mr(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
